Interzona as a member of TEH

Ada Arduini

Interzona got in touch with Trans Europe Halls many years ago but we decided to be members only in 2008. I have been the delegate since than and I think it’s an incredible opportunity for us because here in Interzona we have been so much concentrated on what we were doing here and on surviving in these conditions that we didn´t really have time to understand what’s going on in other centres. We didn’t realise that there are so many similar places with the same problems and with the same goals as us. So it really opened my mind and the mind of the people that I took to these meetings regarding Trans Europe Halls network. We met people from all Europe and I think they are working on more or less the same principals, they are offering the communities where they live contemporary art and they create places where people can work together in a creative way. These people understand very well what it means to be concerned about saving old buildings or old areas in a city - to give underdeveloped and ruined areas a new life and turn them into spaces full of creativity and contemporary art.&nbsp;<br>
