Creative Industries in Estonia
Keiti Kljavin & Kadri Koppel
I think when we had the Cultural Capital year then there was a lot of discourse around it and we used this term all the time cultural industries, creative industries. And now some years later we do not really use these terms anymore, which is a good thing I think. And also being able to define what it means, I remember I wrote an essay about it. It was really a struggle. But I think another good think about it, I guess I am a positivist so I keep bringing out good things, is that if you start talking about terms it kind of brings along some kind of activities. So now I think we are more in the phase when activities are happening. It is kind of maybe a trend. We are not discussing, defining the term anymore but we are really becoming a little bit more entrepreneurial and understanding that culture can be entrepreneurial as well and when you do something creative it does not even matter if you do something with your hands or it is about social innovation. Then it is also a creative process and it is a little bit a part of a trend maybe. That is what I think.
